Aims and objectives

As part of the Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT), the main objectives of the Central Borders and Berwickshire Members Centres are to play a major role in conserving the wildlife and fauna of the Scottish Borders, both urban and rural; to help conserve their habitats; and to keep a watchful eye on potential threats and illegal activities.

The eight SWT reserves in the Borders provide safe, controlled environments for nationally-important plant and animal species, from rare types of wort and orchids to otters and red squirrels, as well as a wide range of birds and insects.

By getting involved, you can help contribute towards the welfare of Scotland’s wildlife and help to fund conservation work and the maintenance of reserves.
